We\u2019re a romantic lot, us Brits. With the cost of weddings shooting up yearly, it becomes clear just what lengths we\u2019ll go to when it comes to making our special day memorable. Did you know that in 2014, the average UK couple was spending at least \u00a3150 more to hire a band to play at their wedding party than the year before? Clearly, we like to get it right!<\/p>\n

So what else has been making up the largest costs in our wedding budget? We know that perfect bridal gown can set you back a fair amount (an average of \u00a3600 more than the groom\u2019s outfit apparently, so be ready to splash out), but it still doesn\u2019t top the list of the biggest wedding expenses. Oh – and it might interest you to know that although we\u2019ve been shelling out the pennies for our own special day, we don\u2019t necessarily top the list of the world\u2019s most generous wedding guests!
