I\u2019m Ruth and I run a small handmade business making bespoke flower girl and younger bridesmaid outfits. There are a few tips I would like to share with you to help keep your little flower girls smiling on your big day!<\/p>\n

1. Comfortable Dresses<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Whatever style of dress you choose, make sure it fits well and is something a little girl can move freely in. Kids will be kids and we all know they are going to be running around like crazy because that\u2019s what is so much fun about weddings when you\u2019re knee high!<\/p>\n

2. It\u2019s all in the details<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Don\u2019t just think dress. If you want your flower girl to really melt everyone\u2019s heart, make sure you pay attention to the smaller details like hair accessories, mini bouquets and think about the shoes (You\u2019d be surprised how many people forget this bit!) Maybe add something a little extra special like a pair of fairy wings or some face painting, the only limit is your imagination.<\/p>\n

3. Flowers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A tradition started in Ancient Rome, flower girls scattering herbs and flowers to bless the couple with prosperity and fertility. You can go for traditional posies using real flowers to match your own, or you can opt for a more alternative bouquet using paper or fabric flowers. These make a sweet memento for your flower girls to keep afterwards. If you want them to scatter petals as you walk up the aisle try something a little different and use natural confetti from a tea cup!<\/p>\n

4. Children will be seen and heard!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If you choose to have little ones at your wedding, be prepared for possible interruptions! It\u2019s always a good idea to provide a little busy bag to keep them entertained during the boring bits (cue overlong father of the bride speech!)<\/p>\n

5. Enjoy the CUTENESS!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You will make a little girl feel like a total fairy princess for a day and get some great photos to treasure in the future. They will love you forever!<\/p>\n
