Planning your wedding can be an overwhelming task. The sheer number of decisions and details that go into planning the big day can be draining on the mind and pocket. Picking the date, venues for the wedding and the reception, choosing the menu, the DJ, the guest list, the dresses and tuxes, flowers \u2026 the list can seem never-ending. What about wedding favours? Traditionally, this feature is way down the list compared to other decisions that must be made.<\/p>\n

Affordability is key. If you have a very small budget for favours, it’s possible to find something nice within your price range. Have you considered writing a note expressing gratitude to the guests and thanking them for celebrating with you? Your guests will appreciate the kind thought. Keep in mind that they are attending your wedding to celebrate the day with you, not to bring home a small gift.<\/p>\n

However, most couples do like to give wedding favours to thank their guests for coming to the wedding and making all the sacrifices that got them there, such as buying a new dress and\/or shoes, travelling and staying at a hotel for an out-of-town wedding, hiring a babysitter and buying a gift.<\/p>\n

If you decide to give favours, what kinds are best? The infographic below, put together by US company Mrs Prindables<\/a>, is a handy list of things to think about when choosing your favours. There are no set rules for what to buy or how much to spend, but you do want the gift to reflect the love and appreciation you feel for your guests.<\/p>\n

The best \u201crule\u201d is to give a favour that you would be excited to receive, not something you would be happy to throw away the moment you got home. Small, useful items, perhaps personalised with your initials, are always a good option. Everyone loves good-quality sweets and other desserts \u2014 but don\u2019t try to make your own!
