- The Grand Folkestone
The Grand is an elegant Edwardian building, built in 1899. It boasts luxury with the famous Glasshouse and majestic marble steps that lead you back in time as you enter.
All of our rooms have been designed to make the most of their beautiful location. With their enviable views and stunning vintage decor they offer a unique timeless atmosphere.
There are two rooms licensed for Civil Ceremonies:
The Green Room: With its high ceilings and tall windows this charming reception room overlooking Terlingham gardens boasts elegance and romance and can comfortably sit 90 guests for a ceremony. Even with its airy feel from the gorgeous views this room feels uniquely intimate and can also accommodate up to 80 guests for a wedding breakfast.
The Drawing Room: A charming room featuring a high ceiling and vintage crystal chandeliers that give a spacious and airy feel to one of our more intimately sized rooms. With a glorious crackling open fire, the Drawing Room is ideal for smaller ceremonies and can also be used for your wedding breakfast accommodating up to 50 people.
Every room has a different perspective of the fabulous vistas which provide the ultimate ‘wow’ factor for your special day. To accomodate your wedding breakfast we have a selection of rooms that are certain to impress.
The Dining Room: A room which certainly lives up to The Grand name. The most popular choice for our couples holding their wedding breakfast. It boasts three balconies with stunning views over Terlingham Gardens and the famous Leas promenade. The Dining Room is our largest space which can comfortably cater for numbers from 50 to a staggering 220, its graceful proportions and high ceilings makes for the perfect photographic opportunity to mark a special day with friends and family.
Palm Court: The fabulous Palm Court glass house faces directly over The Leas and has spectacular coastal views. It is an unrivalled space available for smaller wedding receptions with a maximum of 45 guests.
Ballroom: Inspired by the Art Deco period the Ballroom was decorated and styled over 80 years ago with the designs still present to this day. A large balcony to the side has splendid sea views and can be used as a fantastic setting for those all important photographs. This is a truly special room with a vintage touch that can accommodate up to 200 guests for a wedding breakfast.
